How did Walt’s Homemade Salsa begin?
I have always enjoyed preparing and cooking homemade meals for my family and friends. In the fall of 2010, my father gave me canning jars and a friend had spoken with me about making fresh salsa. This sparked a new idea to experiment with and a use for my father’s jars. After two months of working with my new experiment I came up with a salsa with a great taste, but some work still needed to be done. After a few adjustments, I came up with the recipes that are now known as Walt’s Homemade Salsa. The salsa is available in four flavors to please the taste buds of any salsa lover; mild, medium, hot and extra hot. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed creating them for you. They are truly a Major flavor to savor!
Since Walt created his salsas, he has realized that he had tapped into his ability to create, which has been an exciting discovery of a hidden talent. This has flourished into the creation of additional tasty and unique products. He has created three different barbecue sauces; Original, Spicy and Spicy Honey Mustard Barbecue. The Honey Mustard Barbecue is now the base for his newest hot sauce, The Creeper. This sauce includes jalapenos, habaneros and ground reaper pepper and sure to please the pallet of the hot sauce lover, and if used in moderation, even those with the medium palate. Another delicious hot sauce is his Sriracha Hot Sauce. This hot sauce is not the typical vinegar base, it has a delicious blend that is amazing as a wing sauce, great on ribs, a dip for steaks or just a spread on a burger or to enhance any bratwurst or hot dog. Then he has his seasonings; Spicy, Sweet Heat, Savory (no sodium) and Garlic & Lemon Pepper. The seasonings go great on just about anything you choose to create, “it makes cooking easy because everything tastes delicious!” The Sweet Heat seasoning is now used on kettle chips available in 2.5 oz. bags and they are so tasty. The Sweet Heat is my favorite and I put it on everything from popcorn, chicken, eggs, seafood and potatoes; the possibilities are endless!
I can hardly wait to see what else he comes up with next to excite my palate! -Cassie
